Applicants to the preparatory faculty

Education at the Kuban State Technological University is conducted in Russian.

For successful study at the KubSTU on bachelor’s, specialist, master’s and postgraduate programs, it is necessary to have a sufficient level of Russian language proficiency.

The preparatory faculty of the Kuban State Technological University implements additional general education programs that provide training for foreign citizens and stateless persons to study professional educational programs in Russian.

The proposed programs comply with the requirements of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Russian Federation and provide for the study of the Russian language, as well as academic disciplines in the chosen field (direction).

Choosing the field of training

In accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation dated October 3, 2014 No. 1304 “On approval of the requirements for the development of additional general educational programs that provide training for foreign citizens and stateless persons to study professional educational programs in Russian” the Preparatory Faculty for Foreign Citizens of Kuban State Technological University provides study on five fields of pre-University training:
  • engineering, technical and technological
  • economic
  • natural-science
  • humanitarian
  • medical and biological

The main part of the curriculum is a Russian language course. Particular attention is paid to the study of the scientific style of speech as the basis of a language specialty. General theoretical disciplines are provided depending on the field of training, which is determined by the chosen specialty for further training.

Classes are held 5-6 days a week for 4-8 academic hours per day (1 academic hour – 45 min).

Russian language classes are held in groups of 7-8 students, and specialized classes – in groups of 14-16 students.

Groups are formed by the initial level of Russian language proficiency, which is determined by preliminary testing at the enrollment stage.

To prepare students entering the master’s and postgraduate study programs, curricula with in-depth study of the Russian language have been developed.

Application deadlines

Applications for training in 2020 are accepted from June 15th, 2020.

Training fees

The Preparatory faculty accepts foreign citizens and stateless persons who have completed full secondary education and received a visa to study at KubSTU, after checking the submitted documents. Admission to the Preparatory Faculty is carried out without exams, on the basis of a competition of documents, subject to full pre-payment for the entire period of study.

Submission of documents

Dear listeners! The admission campaign 2020 in all universities of the Russian Federation will be held distantly! The order of the Ministry of science and higher education of Russian Federation No. 547 excludes the possibility of accepting documents from applicants in person and by mail.

Pre-digitize all the necessary documents in PDF format so that from June 15th you will be ready to submit an application distantly.

  • application form;
  • a copy of all completed pages of an identity document;
  • a copy of the state-issued document on education legalized in the established procedure (if necessary), with a translation into Russian;
  • electronic photo.

After the necessary verification of documents, you will be sent a letter about the decision.

Enrollment and conclusion of a training agreement

After approval, you will be sent a set of documents for concluding a training agreement:
  • application for enrollment;
  • a training agreement;
  • receipt for tuition fees.

Important: enrollment for training is carried out after pre-payment.

You will send the signed documents and a copy of the receipt for tuition fees to the following email address: study.kubstu@yandex.ru. In response, you will be sent an order for admission to training and instruction on the start of the educational process.

Important: After removal of all the restrictions between states related to measures for the non-proliferation of coronavirus infection COVID-19 and the resumption of transport links, an invitation letter will be sent to you.

Upon arrival for training, a foreign citizen provides all the originals of the above listed documents and additionally provides:
  • 6 photos 3 × 4 cm on matte paper;
  • Medical certificate on the absence of HIV infection and contraindications for training with a translation into Russian, which examination period is no more than 2 months before entering the territory of the Russian Federation;
  • Medical report on the absence of contraindications for training in the Russian Federation issued by the official authority of the residence country(similar to the certificate 086/У)
The documents have to be:
  • in Russian or have an officially certified translation into Russian;
  • certified by the seals and signatures of authorized persons;
  • on paper.

Important: Check-in to the University dormitory is possible only if you provide a full set of medical documents, valid fluorography, medical examination and availability of free places!

To stay in the territory of the Russian Federation, you need to have a valid medical insurance!

Medical insurance should be issued from the first day of your staying in the Russian Federation!

Registration of a study visa

To enter the territory of the Russian Federation, most foreign students need a study visa, which is issued at the Embassy (Consulate) of the Russian Federation on the territory of your residence country and is valid for 90 days. After this period, the study visa can be extended through the Department of international cooperation.

Upon successful enrollment KubSTU sends a set of documents to the migration Department of the Russian Federation to issue an invitation to study, necessary for obtaining a study visa. The invitation process takes at least one month. A copy of the invitation will be sent to the email address mentioned in the application. The migration Department of the Russian Federation sends the invitation to the appropriate Embassy of the Russian Federation in the country, mentioned in the application. To obtain a study visa print and submit an invitation, apply for a set of documents at the Russian Embassy (Consulate) in your residence country.

An invitation and a study visa are not required for citizens of the following countries:
  • Azerbaijan;
  • Armenia;
  • Belarus;
  • Moldova;
  • Kazakhstan;
  • Kyrgyzstan;
  • Tajikistan;
  • Uzbekistan;
  • Ukraine.

The procedure of arrival at KubSTU

About the date and time of arrival (including Krasnodar city) you inform the staff of Preparatory faculty for foreign citizens by phone (861) 255-85-23.

On the day of arrival you need to come to the Preparatory Faculty for foreign citizens. Our address: 2, Moskovskaya st., Krasnodar, Kuban State Technological University, Preparatory Faculty for foreign citizens, dormitory 4, room 203 during work days from 8:00 to 17:00 (Moscow time).

You should have the following documents with you:
  • passport and its copy;
  • the original education documents and their certified copy (if necessary, the documents have to be legalized);
  • migration card and its copy;
  • medical certificates (HIV, Syphilis antibody tests, fluorography);
  • 6 photos 3 × 4 in size printed on matte paper.

Registration of stay on the territory of the Russian Federation

Upon arrival in Russia, all foreign students have to draw up a migration card and register with the migration.

A migration card is a mandatory document for a foreign citizen to stay in Russia. You can get the migration card form on the plane or take it at a special counter near passport control.

On the day of arrival or the next business day before 12:00, all foreign students have to come to the Department of International Cooperation (2, Moskovskaya st., building A, room A-523) for registration with the migration. It is necessary to have:
  • passport (or other identification document by which entry was made) and a copy of all its completed pages;
  • migration card with a stamp on crossing the border of the Russian Federation and its copy.
  • copy of the training agreement.

All foreign applicants also need to have valid medical insurance! Information about insurance companies in Krasnodar and advice on registration of a medical insurance policy can be obtained during registering for migration. When applying, pay attention to the type of insurance policy (for foreign students) and the territory of insurance (Krasnodar and Krasnodar region).

Important: It is necessary to conclude a voluntary medical insurance agreement for a full medical examination upon arrival at KubSTU. In accordance with the requirements of the law the cost of a medical policy may range from 6,000 to 8,000 rubles, depending on the set of insurance services.

Dormitory check-in procedure

At the Preparatory faculty all students in need are provided with places to stay in dormitory of KubSTU in the following order:
1. Students who are planning to enter KubSTU after Preparatory faculty are given places in dormitory first of all;
2. Students who are planning to enter other universities of the Russian Federation after Preparatory faculty are settled in the dormitory for free places at the end of admission to the Preparatory faculty.
